The honest alternative

The BrightLocal alternative without per-location pricing.

BrightLocal is the closest thing local SEO has to an industry standard - and its sticker price covers exactly one location. RankLens does the local toolkit job flat per business: a client with three profiles is one site, not three invoices. Prices compared as of September 2026.

Why people go looking

The multiplication problem

BrightLocal's plans run $39-59/mo per location. That reads fine until your roster meets the real world: the plumber with three branches, the franchise with seven, the dentist who opened a second office. Every location multiplies the bill, citation submissions are billed on top, and an agency's 10-client roster with a few multi-location businesses balloons into enterprise pricing for small-business work.

RankLens counts differently because we ran multi-location businesses ourselves: one business is one site, however many locations it has. Three Google Business Profiles are included per site ($2/mo each beyond that), and every profile gets its own rank grid, review flow and metrics.

Side by side

The local toolkit, priced two ways

BrightLocal

Local SEO toolkit · $39-59/mo per location

  • Local rank tracking, audits, white-label reports
  • The industry's biggest citation tracker; submissions billed per citation
  • Review monitoring across many platforms
  • Every location is a separate billable unit
  • Review requests basic; no CRM-triggered automation with sequences
  • Website SEO is audit-level, not keywords/backlinks/content

Verdict: a real toolkit - metered by location.

RankLens

Local + website SEO platform · $69/mo per business

  • Rank grids with competitor leaderboards, auto-scanned, unlimited
  • NAP verification plus the short list of citations worth building - no submission upsell
  • Review engine: CRM-triggered sequences, rotation, complaint capture
  • Full website side: keywords, backlinks, site health, content audits, AI brief
  • White-label dashboards, reports and digests included on the Agency plan

Verdict: the same jobs, flat per business, plus the website half.

Fair is fair

When BrightLocal is the right call

If your work is citation-heavy - directory cleanup across hundreds of sources, aggregator resubmissions, listings management at scale - BrightLocal's citation machinery is the most complete in the industry and we don't pretend to replace it. Our position is different: we verify your NAP where it counts and hand you the short list of citations actually worth building, because for most service businesses the 300-directory grind stopped mattering years ago. If a client is paying you specifically for mass listings management, keep BrightLocal for that account.

For everything else a local retainer includes - rank proof, reviews, reports, and a website that actually gets fixed - one flat platform does it with one login.

Switching

Moving a roster without a migration project

1

Connect Search Console

Your sites import in a click each - keywords, pages and history start flowing the same day. Business Profiles connect for reviews and metrics, or track any profile by name.

2

Brand it

Your logo and colors go on dashboards, reports and digest emails in five minutes. Client logins are one click per client - view-only or posting rights.

3

Compare a report cycle

Send one RankLens branded report next to your BrightLocal one. The rank grid map usually settles the conversation - and there's no per-location line item on the invoice after.

Common questions

FAQ

Does RankLens build citations like BrightLocal's submission service?

No, and on purpose. We verify your name, address and phone everywhere you're listed and give you the short list of sources actually worth building for your market - the five data aggregators first. You build them once, we verify them; nobody sells you 300 directories.

How does multi-location pricing actually work?

One business = one site = one price, with 3 Google Business Profiles included. A three-location client on BrightLocal's $39 tier is $117/mo before submissions; on RankLens it's one site inside your flat plan. Each extra profile beyond three is $2/mo.

Are white-label reports really included?

Yes - dashboards, print-ready reports, Monday digest emails and the in-app support chat all carry your brand on the Agency plan ($199/mo, 10 client sites included). There's no white-label surcharge.

Can I import my BrightLocal report history?

No - report archives don't transfer between platforms. Your RankLens history starts building from day one (daily KPI snapshots, biweekly grids), and your old PDFs remain yours.
