Know where you stand

Stop guessing what you rank for. Google already keeps the list.

RankLens pulls your site's real Search Console queries - up to 250 per period - and reads them for you: position and movement, clicks and impressions, search volume and difficulty from a search-intelligence index, and an intent label on every row. No rank tracker to set up, no keyword list to guess at. If it's in your top 250 Google queries, it's here.

RankLens Keywords screen - rising and declining movers, rank distribution across four position buckets, and the full query table with intent and difficulty

☝ Rising and declining movers at the top - only moves of half a position or more, on queries with real traffic, make the cards.

Movement

Position change against a baseline that plays fair

Every position is the last 28 days, compared to the 28 days immediately before it - the same window as every other page, never a cherry-picked "best week ever" baseline. The top four risers and top four decliners surface themselves, so the story of the month is the first thing you see.

  • A mover needs at least 20 impressions or 3 clicks before it counts - a jump on six impressions is a coin flip, not a trend
  • Moves under half a position stay out of the cards
  • "No significant movement in this period" is a real answer too - we'd rather say it than invent drama
RISING · VS PREVIOUS 28 DAYS
"deck staining cost" · now #8.2  +5.1
DECLINING · VS PREVIOUS 28 DAYS
"composite decking vs wood" · now #14.6  -5.3
BELOW THE NOISE FLOOR · NOT SHOWN
"decks" moved 4 spots on 6 impressions. That's static, so it stays out of the cards.

Intent

Every query labeled by intent - branded traffic split out

Money words like "cost", "hire" and "near me" mark a query transactional; research words like "best", "vs" and "reviews" mark it commercial; how-to phrasing reads as informational. Branded searches are recognized as navigational - even misspelled ones, thanks to brand matching that catches one-letter slips.

  • Filter the whole table by intent to see your money queries alone
  • Misspellings still count as brand, so vanity traffic never inflates your non-branded trend
  • Your call wins: mark any keyword branded or not, and marking one branded teaches the brand token to the entire set
NAVIGATIONAL · CAUGHT AS BRANDED
"dec doc reviews" - one letter off, still recognized as the brand DeckDoc. Filed under branded, out of your SEO trend.
TRANSACTIONAL
"deck staining cost near me" - money words. This is the row worth fighting for.
INFORMATIONAL
"how long does deck stain last" - a content topic, and a future blog post.

The toolkit

Everything on the Keywords screen

Head terms, recovered

Search Console truncates at its top queries. The search-intelligence index adds your top 25 organic keywords by traffic - and any head term Google's export missed is appended as its own row, volume and difficulty attached.

Merged live on every view

Rank distribution

One stacked bar shows where your rankings actually live: Top 3, positions 4-10, 11-20, and 21+, color-coded with a count for each bucket. Watching the bar shift left is the whole game.

Live on view

The volume chart

Your top 8 keywords by search volume, side by side, so the biggest prizes are obvious. No volume data yet? It falls back to your top keywords by impressions instead of showing you an empty box.

Top 8 by volume · impressions fallback

A table that sorts like you think

Default order is real clicks first, then impressions, then estimated traffic - reality before estimates. Sort by position, change, CTR, volume or difficulty (a 0-100 colored bar), search the list, or filter by intent.

Live on view · rolling 28-day window

Mark it not relevant

Ranking for something you don't sell? Hide it. Hidden keywords are excluded from the whole view - movers, chart, table - counted in a footer, and one click brings any of them back.

One click · un-hide any time

Enrichment that behaves

Volume and difficulty data is cached for 72 hours, and the cache survives restarts. If the index errors or a quota runs dry, you get the last good copy instead of an error screen.

Refreshed every 72 hours · stale copy beats an error
The honest limits: search volume and difficulty are US-national estimates, not local numbers - 5,400 searches a month means national demand, not your city's. Index enrichment covers your top 25 head terms; every other row still shows your own Search Console clicks, impressions and CTR, which are real. Index data typically runs 2-3 days behind.

The payoff

From query dump to to-do list in one screen

Illustrative scenario A deck builder opens the 28-day view. "deck staining cost" climbed five spots after last month's pricing-page rewrite - the rising card caught it. "composite decking vs wood" is sliding on a page nobody has touched in a year. And "deck builders", a head term that never made Search Console's list, appears from the index sitting at #21. That's a win confirmed, a rescue flagged, and a target named - in fifteen minutes, without exporting anything.
